Biography
Jarred Jangala Robertson was born in Yuendumu in 1979, a remote Aboriginal community 290 km north-west of Alice Springs in the NT of Australia. His family moved to the Nyirripi outstation when he was young and he grew up and attended school there.
Both his mum and dad have since passed away. He spends a lot of time in Ernabella these days and also paints for the art centre there. He still has a large extended family in Nyirripi whom he visits often and has been painting through Warlukrulangu Artists since 2010
Warlukurlangu Artists Aboriginal Corporation, is a Aboriginal owned and governed art centre located in Yuendumu and has a satellite program in Nyirripi which is 160 kms further west.
Jarred uses bright acrylic paintings to depict his traditional stories that depict his country, the animals and features of the landscape
When he is not painting, he plays football and enjoys going hunting.
