Biography

Vicky Nungarrayi-Napurrurla Sims  was born in 1991 in Alice Springs Hospital, the closest hospital to Yuendumu, a remote Aboriginal community located 290 km northwest of Alice Springs in the NT of Australia. Vicky attended the local school and during the holidays would visit the art centre and watch the woman paint.

Vicky painted her first painting with Warlukurlangu Artists Aboriginal Corporation; an Aboriginal owned and governed Art Centre, in 2002 at the age of 11 years. After completing her schooling she joined the rangers and has been working as a ranger ever since.
