Dion Jampijinpa Brown is the grandson of Paddy Japaljarri Stewart (1935-2013) who is one of the artists who painted the Yuendumu School Doors. Dion lives in Yuendumu, an Aboriginal community located 300 kms north-west of Alice Springs in the Tanami Desert.
