Wati (men dreaming)

This Jukurrpa follows the journey of Yarripiri, the snake that was carried across country by Jakamrra and Jupurrurla men. As they travelled along they performed ceremonies which included the burning of wanpanpirri. The Wanpanpirri in this canvas are small ones. It also follows the same journey done by the wampana (wallaby). In the past the spears were carved along during ceremony. wanpanpirri (ceremonial poles)Yarripiri (snake)Kurlarda (spears)
