Biography

Jeanie Nakamarra Pegg was born in 1980 in Alice Springs Hospital. She now lives in Kintore, a remote Aboriginal community in the Northern Territory about 530 kilometres west of Alice Springs. Her mother took her out looking for bush foods when she was a girl, and she paints the stories that her mother taught her about an important women’s dreaming site at Tjukurla, in sandhilll country located across the WA border. She depicts the rock holes located there, the clothing worn by women on ceremonial occasions, and the bush tucker that can be found in the area.
